Autumn/Winter Fabrics

Just received the new batch of fabrics for the autumn/winter collection. My initial reaction was hmmm ... they are not as vibrant and playful as the summer fabrics but then I draped them on the dummy and they brought along so much sophistication, that I instantly fell in love.
I can't wait to take them to the factory and start working on the samples. A sneak preview of one of the fabrics is attached.

Spring/Summer 2010

Just thought I'd add a few images of our spring/summer collection, so you get a taste of what we are all about.
The autumn/winter 2010 will be out 1st week in March. To see the current spring/summer collection, go to www.orleansdesigns.com

Haute - Fashion Africa

I am a fan of www.fashionafrica.com
The content and layout of the online magazine is great. There is also a feature on Orleans Designs.

My trip to Ghana

Just returned back from a lovely trip to Ghana visiting the in-laws. It was great to switch off for a few weeks and not have any computer in sight although it was quite an adjustment as I am normally glued to the computer.
The kids loved the great weather and I must say it was thoroughly relaxing for me.
Ghana gave me a lot of inspiration for my next collection and also opened up opportunities for Orleans Designs.
I arrived back to London on a high with all these new ideas. Not even the cold miserable English weather could get me down.
I have been spending the first few days drawing up strategic marketing plans as well as finalising my autumn/winter 2010 collection, which I believe is looking rather sleak, I must say. Am very happy with the initial drawings. If I can get some clippings, I will post them.

Model search

Just decided on our model for the autumn/winter 2010 collection. I am so excited. She is absolutely gorgeous. I think she will bring a lot to the shoot. Check her out - Nina Malone  http://ninamalone.co.uk/
I am still too-ing with the idea of creating an African themed shoot without the overkill though. Hmm, will see.
